What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Jack Nelson Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some of the most common A/C problems in Tulsa.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner running but there isn’t cool air blowing, you might need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Jack Nelson Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it simply burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity could cause more condensation so an additional issue to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is restricted. If you can check these things, you may be able to pinpoint the issue; if not, give Jack Nelson Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause huge cooling troubles. Another thing that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Jack Nelson Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be good to go. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your trouble, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Jack Nelson Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
